Hi, I’m Michelle—founder of the Sloan Bella Collective. My journey spans more than 30 years in patient and client care, including 21 years at Johns Hopkins University and ongoing experience in a high-touch medical spa setting. My background in both medical and aesthetic environments shapes the elevated, nurturing experience I provide to every client.
The Sloan Bella Collective was built to be a sanctuary—where artistry meets wellness, and where every service is guided by intention, integrity, and genuine human connection. My mission is to ensure each client feels supported, restored, and beautifully aligned on their wellness journey. When I’m not working with clients, I’m often outdoors, spending time with family, or expanding my education across health, beauty, and holistic well-being.
I chose the name Sloan Bella as a way to carry my family with me. Sloan is my grandfather’s first name, and Bella means “beautiful” in both Italian and Spanish — which felt meaningful since I’m both Italian and Mexican. It all came together naturally.
Professional Training
Michelle Hughes of Sloan Bella Bronze was professionally trained by Miranda Miller, founder of Luxy Tan. Her hands-on education focused on spray tan technique, solution knowledge, client comfort, and creating an elevated, polished experience for every client.

How does mobile spray tanning work?
We bring our pop-up tent and ventilation system to you — fast setup, no mess, and a flawless glow right at home or in your office.
Will I look orange? What if I’m very fair?
No. Your shade is custom-blended to your exact undertones. Beautiful on ALL skin tones, from very fair to deep.
What do I wear during my tan?
Whatever makes you comfortable — swimsuit, underwear, or our disposable bandeau/undies.
Clients under 18 must wear undergarments.
Please bring dark, loose clothing for afterward.
When should I tan before an event?
1–2 days before. Your tan looks its darkest around 24 hours post-application.
Should brides do a trial?
Yes. If you’re new to spray tanning, a trial ensures perfect shade matching.

Is spray tanning safe during pregnancy/breastfeeding?
The active ingredient has not been tested during pregnancy/breastfeeding. Please tan with your doctor’s approval.
Do you sell sunless products?
Yes — we carry high-quality Dolce Glow retail products.
How long is the appointment?
Spray portion: 15–20 minutes
Plan for: 30–45 minutes total

- Exfoliate & shave 24 hours prior
- Arrive with clean, product-free skin
- Schedule waxing, facials, nails, etc. BEFORE your tan
- Bring dark, loose clothing
- After Your Tan
- Rinse based on your solution type
- Avoid Dove & Olay products
- Pat dry — do not rub
- Avoid sweating for the first 8–12 hours (unless Rapid solution)
- Maintain Your Tan
- Typical longevity: 5–7 days
- Moisturize daily
- Avoid exfoliation, long hot showers, chlorine & hot tubs

Update! This is DAY 8 and 10+ showers later my Dolce Glow spray tan from Michelle M Hughes is still looking 
. Yes it’s fading, but not patchy. The fade is very natural and I’m still loving it!
